Coal India reports 1.40% fall in coal production during May

Coal India has reported 1.40% decline in coal production to 63.5 million tonnes (MT) (Provisional) during May 2025 as compared to 64.4 MT (Provisional) in May 2024. Further, in May 2025, coal offtake decreased by 7.78% to 64 MT (Provisional) as compared 69.4 MT (Provisional) in May 2024.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
