Welspun India rises as its business arm commissions 20-MW wind farm in Jaisalmer

Welspun India is currently trading at Rs. 57.10, up by 0.25 points or 0.44% from its previous closing of Rs. 56.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 58.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 58.30 and Rs. 57.00 respectively. So far 325 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 82.80 on 01-Feb-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 46.50 on 06-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 60.90 and Rs. 52.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 581.67 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.41% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 16.97% and 14.62% respectively.

Welspun India’s business arm - Welspun Energy (WEL), the country’s biggest developer of solar projects has commissioned a 20-MW wind farm at Jaisalmer district in Rajasthan. The said plant has 10 turbines for generating an average annual net production of 43.1 GWh.

Welspun Energy Solar Rajasthan, a fully owned subsidiary of the company had signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation.

Following this project, Welspun Energy has over 80 MW of clean energy projects in Rajasthan. It is also developing two 100 MW wind projects in Karnataka and Rajasthan.
