Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals on Monday, saddled by the ongoing tensions between the US and China, which are impacting global trade dynamics. Additionally, negative cues from Wall Street and various economic data releases are contributing to the cautious sentiment among investors. Intensified Israel-Iran tensions also raised oil prices, impacting economic growth and market performance. Sharp sell-offs in financial and technological sector stocks pressured the local indices. Meanwhile, participants are keenly awaiting key central bank meetings this week. Hang Seng slipped for the third straight session.

Hang Seng slipped by 28.36 points 0.12% to 23,864.20, Straits Times down by 12.16 points 0.31% to 3,899.26, Jakarta Composite narrowed by 1.39 points or 0.02% to 7,164.68, Taiwan Weighted declined by 62.02 points or 0.28% to 22,010.93, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI lower 4.68 points or 0.31% to 1,513.43.

On the flip side, Nikkei 225 soared by 480.79 points or 1.27% to 38,315.04, KOSPI Index increased by 32.54 points or 1.12% to 2,927.16, and Shanghai Composite rose by 1.78 points or 0.05% to 3,378.78.
