Bond yields trade lower on Tuesday

Bond yields traded lower on Tuesday as commerce ministry in its latest data has showed that India's merchandise exports declined 2.17 per cent to $38.73 billion in May 2025 as compared to $39.59 billion in same month last year, with sectors including petroleum products, gems & jewellery and engineering posting a decline.

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields ticked higher Monday as global markets continue to react to deadly air strikes being exchanged between Israel and Iran. Furthermore, oil prices dropped on Monday, erasing much of last week's conflict-driven gains, as traders reacted to signs of easing tensions between Israel and Iran.

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 1 basis point lower at 6.26% from its previous close of 6.27% on Monday. 

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 2 basis points lower at 5.94% from its previous close of 5.96% on Monday.
