Indian equity benchmark -- Nifty -- ended marginally higher on Tuesday. Index made a gap-up start followed by broadly positive cues from other Asian markets, after US President Donald Trump announced ceasefire between Iran-Israel, which leads to ease in crude oil prices. Index continued its northward journey in late morning session. Some optimism came as S&P Global Ratings raised India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) forecast from 6.3 per cent to 6.5 per cent for current fiscal (FY26) assuming a normal monsoon, lower crude oil prices, income-tax concessions and monetary easing. In afternoon session, index trimmed most of its gains as traders opted to book initial profits amid ongoing development between Iran-Israel conflict. Meanwhile, a report stated that Iran breach ceasefire announced by US President Donald Trump, which raised concern among investors. Finally, index managed to close above 25,000 mark.

Most of the sectorial indices ended in green except Media and Oil & Gas stocks. The top gainers from the F&O segment were Titagarh Rail Systems, Vodafone Idea, and Delhivery. On the other hand, the top losers were KPIT Technologies, Oil India and Bharat Dynamics. In the index option segment, maximum OI continues to be seen in the 25900 - 26100 calls and 24900 - 25100 puts indicating this is the trading range expectation.
