Coal India reports 8.5% fall in coal production during June

Coal India has reported fall of 8.5% in coal production to 57.80 million tonnes (MT) (Provisional) during June 2025 as compared to 63.1 MT (Provisional) in June 2024. It produced 183.3 MT (Provisional) of coal during April- June period, down 3.2% from 189.3 MT (Provisional) during the same period previous year.   

In June 2025, coal offtake decreased by 7.4% to 60.4 MT (Provisional) from 65.2 MT (Provisional) in June 2024. The total offtake of coal during the April- June period decreased to 190.1 MT (Provisional), up 4.5% from 198.9 MT (Provisional) in the corresponding period last fiscal.       

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
