Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Kotak Mahindra Bank and VA Tech Wabag to see some action today

Alembic Pharmaceuticals has received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) for its Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) Carbamazepine Extended-Release Tablets USP, 100 mg, 200 mg, and 400 mg. The approved ANDA is therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product (RLD), Tegretol-XR Extended-Release Tablets, 100 mg, 200 mg, and 400 mg, of Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation. Carbamazepine Extended-Release Tablets are indicated for use as an anticonvulsant drug and also for the treatment of the pain associated with true trigeminal neuralgia. Carbamazepine Extended-Release Tablets USP, 100 mg, 200 mg, and 400 mg, have an estimated market size of $71 million for twelve months ending March 2025 according to IQVIA.

Kotak Mahindra Bank has reported result for first quarter ended June 30, 2025 (Q1FY26). The bank has reported 47.49% decline in its net profit at Rs 3,281.68 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025 as compared to Rs 6,249.82 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank increased by 7.92% at Rs 16,916.52 crore for Q1FY26 as compared to Rs 15,675.15 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year. On consolidated basis, the bank has reported 39.96% decline in net profit at Rs 4,472.18 crore for Q1FY26 as compared to Rs 7,448.16 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income of the bank increased by 6.49% at Rs 26,703.92 crore for Q1FY26 as compared to Rs 25,075.87 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.

VA Tech Wabag has secured a Design, Build, Operate (DBO) order funded by World Bank, worth about Rs 380 crore from the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) towards Design, Engineering, Construction and Commissioning (EPC) of Wastewater Treatment Plants (WWTPs) with Tertiary Treatment Facility, Biogas Generation, Solar Sludge Drying Beds and Intermediate Pumping Stations along with associated piping works, scheduled to be completed over 30 months, followed by 10 years of Operation and Maintenance (O&M).

BEML and Hindustan Shipyard (HSL) have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the co-creation of advanced marine systems-encompassing innovation, indigenous design, manufacturing, and end-to end lifecycle support.

RITES has received Letter of Intent from Bharat Electronics for Design, Project Management Consultancy (PMC) Services and Construction of Mass Manufacturing Facility for EM SBU at BEL--Palasamudram (AP) on cost plus basis. The estimated project cost is Rs 177.23 crore excluding GST (including PMC fee). The order is to be executed within 24 months from the date of agreement.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories has made an investment of Rs 565.40 crore in Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories LLC, Russia (DRL Russia), a step-down wholly-owned subsidiary, for a total equity stake of 45.19%. DRL Russia is a Pharmaceutical company registered in Russian Federation distributing pharmaceutical medicines in the country. The fund infused by the company into DRL Russia will be used for working capital requirements.

Petronet LNG has received in-principle additional investment approval for setting up of a 5 MMTPA land-based LNG Terminal at Gopalpur from earlier approval of 4 MMTPA Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) based LNG terminal for an incremental project cost Rs 4,048.80 crore (including taxes and duties). The overall approved value of the project is 6,354.80 crore (including taxes and duties). The Board of Directors of the Company, in its meeting held on July 25, 2025, inter-alia, accorded in-principle additional investment approval for the same.
