Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav said the launch of Operation Sindoor after the Pahalgam attack was a ‘symbol of the government's intelligence failure’. He also asked who was responsible for intel failure that led to Pahalgam attack in which 26 tourists were killed on April 22.
During the Lok Sabha debate on Operation Sindoor, Yadav questioned India’s abrupt end to the conflict with Pakistan and asked ‘under whose pressure was the ceasefire done’. The former Uttar Pradesh CM also questioned, ‘Who will take responsibility for the intelligence lapse in the Pahalgam attack.’ adding that the tragic incident should never have happened. He stated the ‘lapse’ has resulted in loss of precious lives and exposed weaknesses in India’s border security strategy.
A special debate on ‘Operation Sindoor’ began in the Lok Sabha on Monday, with defence minister Rajnath Singh delivering the opening remarks in Parliament and warning Pakistan that strikes will resume if it resorts to any misadventure.
