FMCG Major- Hindustan Unilever’s (HUL) board has approved a proposal for entering into a strategic alliance with Tata Teleservices and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) for distribution of latter’s telecom products by leveraging company’s distribution network in rural markets in India. The companies will now finalize the details of the alliance.
The company’s net profit for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 registered growth of 21.69% at Rs 688.92 crore as compared to Rs 566.12 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s total income has increased by 17.48% at Rs 5688.15 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 4841.49 crore for the similar quarter of the previous year.
Further, the company’s board of directors at their meeting held on October 31, 2011, have declared an interim dividend of Rs 3.50 per equity share of face value of Re 1 each for the financial year ending March 31, 2012. The dividend will be paid to the shareholders on or after November 22, 2011.
