Dr Reddy's Laboratories’ Andhra Pradesh Srikakulam unit’s production is adversely affected for the past 3-4 days due to workers strike. The workers in all 13 production blocks have participated in protest resulting in nil production at the unit. The production is made based out of orders and hence company is unable to estimate exact loss.
Presently, active pharmaceutical ingredients making unit has about 700 employees on its rolls besides about 300-350 contract workers. The number of contract workers was scaled down to about 85 following which the protests started.
