Crude oil futures end lower on Tuesday

Crude oil futures closed lower on Tuesday amid the US intensifying pressure on India to stop buying oil from Russia as well as OPEC plus's recent decision to boost production. With the intent to bring the three-year-plus old Russia-Ukraine war to an end, the US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose secondary sanctions on countries buying oil from Russia, affecting majorly India and China.

Benchmark crude oil futures for September decreased $1.13 or about 1.70% at $65.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude for October delivery declined $1.12 or 1.63% to settle at $67.64 a barrel on London's Intercontinental Exchange.
