Godawari Power and Ispat to set up Battery Energy Storage System Plant

Godawari Power and Ispat has received approval to set up a Battery Energy Storage System Plant with an initial capacity of 10 Gwh for manufacturing Battery Pack and Containers through its wholly owned subsidiary -- Godawari New Energy (GNEPL) at a cost of Rs 700 crore. The 60% capital expenditure will be funded by debt to be raised by GNEPL and remaining expenditure will be funded through equity infusion by the company. 

Subsequently, the company will invest Rs 25.49 crore to acquire 2,54,90,000 equity share of GNEPL of Rs 10 each on rights basis. The board of directors of the company in their meeting held on August 5, 2025 have approved the same.

Godawari Power and Ispat is engaged in the production of sponge iron, steel billets, ferro alloys, HB wires, oxygen, fly ash bricks and is also in the power business.
