Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals of Thursday, saddled by profit-taking in megacap tech stocks and renewed concerns over interest rate trajectories. Investor sentiments dulled with the contraction in manufacturing PMI and ongoing real estate woes in China. South Korea’s KOSPI index dulled with the woes over export competitiveness and raised policy risk for Korea’s auto sector, after the US on Wednesday trimmed auto tariffs on EU imports to 15% while Korean vehicles remain at 25%.

Straits Times dipped by 6.66 points or 0.16% to 4,283.74, Taiwan Weighted declined by 56.03 points or 0.21% to 26,140.70, KOSPI Index decreased by 2.73 points or 0.08% to 3,469.41, Jakarta Composite narrowed by 41.78 points or 0.51% to 8,084.78, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia lower by 0.91 points or 0.06% to 1,598.75.

On the flip side, Nikkei 225 added by 127.69 points or 0.28% to 45,758.00, Hang Seng up by 147.35 points or 0.55% to 26,666.00, and Shanghai Composite rose by 5.98 points or 0.16% to 3,859.62.
