Asian markets traded mostly higher in early deals on Thursday, kindled by the positive global cues, and strong corporate earnings in the region. Rally in technological and energy sector shares led gains in the session. South Korea’s KOSPI index advanced in the session. South Korea’s outbound shipments surged 12.7% in September to $65.95 billion, the largest in over three years, driven by semiconductors, automobiles, ships, and machinery, while the trade surplus widened to $5.64 billion, reinforcing optimism on corporate earnings. China and Hong Kong markets are closed for the National Day holiday.

Straits Times rose by 24.17 points or 0.56% to 4,324.27, Taiwan Weighted declined by 249.73 points or 0.97% to 26,070.27, Jakarta Composite added by 1.02 points or 0.01% to 8,062.08, KOSPI Index increased by 29.70 points or 0.87% to 3,454.30 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia higher by 9.22 points or 0.57% to 1,621.10.

On the flip side, Nikkei 225 down by 468.63 points or 1.04% to 44,464.00.
