The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari has reiterated the Government’s goal of achieving a $5 trillion economy by 2027 under the leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also highlighted the national vision of making India a developed nation by 2047.
Gadkari emphasized that alongside physical progress, three key pillars - Ethics, Economy, and Ecology/Environment - must guide national development. He stated that ethical values are essential to maintain a healthy social and family system, and underlined the importance of integrated thinking, coordination and cooperation among all sectors.
Besides, Gadkari called for balanced development across agriculture, manufacturing, and services sectors. He urged the industry to give priority to the growth of the agriculture and allied sectors, noting that balanced growth was essential for reducing migration and strengthening the rural economy.
Minister reiterated that infrastructure development serves as the backbone of the economy, generating employment and government revenue while contributing significantly to GDP growth. He highlighted that an investment of Rs 100 in national highways contributes Rs 321 to GDP.
