Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals on Friday, led by sell-offs in technological and financial sector stocks and renewed inflation fears. Sluggish factory output and consumer spending data from China signalled ongoing recovery challenges, pressuring export-reliant indices like the Hang Seng and Shanghai Composite. Sharp rise in US Treasury yields amidst hawkish Fed signals raised borrowing costs worldwide, prompting outflows from high-valuation Asian equities toward safer fixed-income assets. Hang Seng tumbled the most among Asian indices marking lowest in near two weeks. Stock market of Taiwan is closed for Double Tenth Day holiday.

Nikkei 225 down by 475.44 points or 0.98% to 48,105.00, Straits Times slipped by 5.47 points or 0.12% to 4,435.03, Hang Seng tumbled by 335.59 points or 1.25% to 26,417.00, Jakarta Composite curtailed by 21.21 points or 0.26% to 8,229.73, Shanghai Composite dipped by 26.97 points or 0.69% to 3,907.00 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia lower by 3.01 points or 0.18% to 1,626.66.

On the flip side, KOSPI Index increased by 46.25 points or 1.30% to 3,595.46.
