Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals on Wednesday, with the due to tech sector sell-offs and rising Treasury yields notes. Sluggish factory output and retail sales figures from China, dulled investor sentiments. Intensified US-China trade war and Middle East uncertainties heightened investor caution. Japan’s Nikkei extended loses to fourth straight session with the stronger local currency yen. 

Nikkei 225 slipped by 22.98 points or 0.05% to 48,680.00, Straits Times dipped by 1.19 points or 0.03% to 4,503.48, Hang Seng narrowed by 103.03 points 0.40% to 25,827.00, Taiwan Weighted trimmed by 151.49 points or 0.57% to 26,604.63, KOSPI Index declined by 15.73 points or 0.40% to 3,937.89, Shanghai Composite down by 1.52 points or 0.04% to 3,938.29.

On the flip side, Jakarta Composite up by 54.04 points or 0.65% to 8,415.97, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia higher by 6.35 points or 0.39% to 1,620.41.
