Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals of Monday

Asian markets traded mostly higher in early deals of Monday, kindled by the optimism over more Fed interest rate cuts at its next monetary policy meeting in December. Gains in technological sector stocks led the gains in local indices. Japan’s Nikkei is closed today for Labor Day holiday. Hang Seng surged in the session, after snapping a six-session losing streak and rebounding from a five-week low.  

Straits Times up by 18.18 points or 0.41% to 4,487.32, Hang Seng surged by 373.98 points 1.46% to 25,594.00, Taiwan Weighted rose by 193.05 points or 0.73% to 26,627.99, Jakarta Composite added by 70.96 points or 0.84% to 8,485.31, KOSPI Index increased by 5.32 points or 0.14% to 3,858.58.

On the flip side, Shanghai Composite curtailed by 8.77 points or 0.23% to 3,826.12, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia lower by 1.11 points or 0.07% to 1,616.46.
