09 Oct 2013 Evaluate

Alstom T&D India’s world-class power transformer manufacturing facility located at Vadodara has flagged off two transformers - first, its 100th 765 kV transformer and second, India’s largest 765 kV 275 MVA, single-phase generator transformer.

Alstom T&D India’s green field facility at Vadodara was inaugurated in March 2009. It has since ramped up production capabilities to become the first domestic manufacturer to reach the ‘Century’ milestone by producing the 100th Extra High Voltage (EHV) 765 kV/500 MVA transformer and reactor. This transformer steps up power to Power Grid’s 765 kV substation at Aurangabad, Maharashtra.

Alstom T&D India also flags off India’s largest 765 kV class generator single phase transformer for Jaypee Group’s Bara Thermal Power project, Uttar Pradesh. Alstom T&D India is the leader and has the largest market share for 765 kV generator transformers among Indian manufacturers.
