Asian markets trade mostly higher in early deals of Monday

Asian markets traded mostly higher in early deals of Monday, due to risk appetite in the market with the expectations of a Fed interest rate cut next month. Strong investment inflows in technological and financial sector stocks kindled the local indices. The positive investor sentiments trivialized market concerns related to a contraction in mainland factory activity and potential volatility. Hang Seng advanced in the session with the strong global cues and on increased foreign inflows with the softer local currency.

Straits Times up by 5.08 points or 0.11% to 4,529.04, Hang Seng rose by 97.11 points 0.38% to 25,956.00, Jakarta Composite lifted by 9.10 points or 0.11% to 8,517.81, Shanghai Composite added by 9.68 points or 0.25% to 3,898.28 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia higher by 17.51 points or 1.09% to 1,621.98.

On the flip side, Nikkei 225 down by 1,020.91 points or 2.03% to 49,233.00, KOSPI Index decreased by 19.10 points or 0.49% to 3,907.49, and Taiwan Weighted slipped by 189.48 points or 0.69% to 27,437.00.
