Paddy arrival crosses 21 lakh tonnes in Haryana and Punjab states

This season after the procurement process started from October 1, the states of Haryana and Punjab have seen over 21 lakh tonnes (LT) of paddy arrival, as per report compiled by food and supplies department officials.

The state of Haryana has witnessed over 13.06 LT of paddy arrival so far from the various grain markets. The district of Karnal, Kurukshetra and Kaithal were leading in paddy arrivals. The arrival this year was much higher than the arrival of over 8.85 LT of paddy in the corresponding period last year.

In Punjab, government agencies and private millers procured over 8.26 LT of paddy till Wednesday. The districts of Ferozepur, Tarn Taran and Muktsar were leading in paddy procurement.
