Coal India reports 4.6% rise in coal production during December

Coal India has reported rise of 4.6% in coal production to 75.7 million tonnes (MT) (Provisional) during December 2025 as compared to 72.4 MT (Provisional) in December 2024. It produced 529.2 MT (Provisional) of coal during April- December period, down 2.6% from 543.4 MT (Provisional) during the same period previous year.     

In December 2025, coal offtake decreased by 5.2% to 64.9 MT (Provisional) from 68.5 MT (Provisional) in December 2024. The total offtake of coal during the April- December period decreased to 544.7 MT (Provisional), down 2.2% from 557.0 MT (Provisional) in the corresponding period last fiscal.         

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
