Bond yields traded higher on Friday as Union Minister of State (Mos) for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh has said India is unlikely to suffer much even if the US imposes higher tariffs, as the strength of the Indian economy has now been realised globally, including by US President Donald Trump.

In the global market, treasury yields were little changed on Thursday as investors weighed the latest economic data as well as developments in trade and geopolitics. Furthermore, oil prices slid on Thursday after U.S. President Donald Trump softened threats toward Greenland and Iran, and on some positive movement that could lead to a solution to end Russia's war in Ukraine.\

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 2 basis points higher at 6.65% from its previous close of 6.63% on Thursday.

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 3 basis points higher at 6.41% from its previous close of 6.38% on Thursday.
