Asian markets traded mostly higher in early deals on Monday, kindled by the risk appetite in the market amidst optimism regarding a potential diplomatic breakthrough in the US-Iran conflicts. Strong performance in the technology sector, particularly regarding artificial intelligence also buoyed the indices. Investor sentiments also got boosted on stronger-than-expected US jobs data released the previous Friday. Japan’s Nikkei advanced after the announcement of a massive 1.6 trillion yen AI partnership in Japan by Microsoft. Stock markets of China, Hong Kong and Taiwan are closed for a holiday today. 

Nikkei soared by 535.51 points or 1.01% to 53,659.00, Straits Times rose by 20.52 points or 0.41% to 4,968.02, and KOSPI Index bullish by 57.46 points or 1.06% to 5,434.76.

On the flip side, Jakarta Composite down by 55.77 points or 0.80% to 6,971.01, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI index narrowed by 5.97 points or 0.35% to 1,689.53.
