Asian markets were trading lower in early deals on Thursday after Iran accused the United States of violating elements of a two-week ceasefire agreement, raising concerns that tensions could escalate again and disrupt energy supplies. Iran’s parliamentary speaker Mohammed Bagher Ghalibaf that the violations are the denial of the Islamic Republic’s right to enrich uranium and Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon, a drone’s entry into Iranian airspace.
Nikkei 225 slipped 427.42 points or 0.76% to 55,881.00, Taiwan Weighted lost 24.5 points or 0.07% to 34,736.88, Jakarta Composite plunged 7.88 points or 0.11% to 7,271.33, Shanghai Composite weakened 29.3 points or 0.73% to 3,965.70, KOSPI dropped 94.86 points or 1.62% to 5,777.48, Hang Seng declined 52.02 points or 0.2% to 25,841.00, Straits Times fell 19.87 points or 0.4% to 4,976.18 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI index was down by 13.5 points or 0.8 % to 1,682.43.
