Coal India shines on reporting production of 35.03 million tonnes in October 2013

Coal India is currently trading at Rs. 292.75, up by 0.60 points or 0.21% from its previous closing of Rs. 292.15 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 291.30 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 295.00 and Rs. 275.35 respectively. So far 13,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 374.05 on 03-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 238.35 on 30-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 295.00 and Rs. 275.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1, 85,069 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 90.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 7.85% and 2.15% respectively.

Coal India, the world’s largest coal miner by output has reported provisional production of 35.03 million tonnes in October 2013, as against target of 40.82 million tonnes. The company’s total off-take for the month of October stood at 35.51 million tonnes as against a target of 41.55 million tonnes.

Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
