Cochin Shipyard’s wholly owned subsidiary -- Udupi Cochin Shipyard (Udupi-CSL) has bagged a Notable order from Ocean Sparkle, an Adani Group Company, for the construction of four nos. of ASD (Azimuthing Stern Drive) Tugs of 70 T Bollard Pull Power. The company classified the order under the Notable category, indicating an order value between Rs 100 crore and Rs 250 crore.
These tugs will be constructed in accordance with the Approved Standard Tug Design and Specifications (ASTDS) promulgated by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways (MoPSW), Government of India. The Tug deliveries will commence from November 2028 and will be completed by June 2029.
Cochin Shipyard is the first Greenfield and presently the most modern shipbuilding and ship repair yard in India.
