Physical rubber prices ended lower on Thursday due to sluggish demand from tyre manufacturers against higher supply expectations. Meanwhile, lower oil costs reduced the price of its main competitor petroleum-based synthetic rubber, making it a cheaper alternative for certain industrial applications.
Spot prices for the RSS-4 variety fell to Rs 256/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 258/kg; while the RSS-5 variety declined to Rs 253/kg compared to its previous closing of Rs 255/kg.
