Indian rupee strengthened against the U.S. dollar on Friday amid optimism over US-Iran peace deal. After US President Donald Trump’s comments regarding near completion of peace deal with Iran to end the war, Iran has acknowledged receiving a proposed memorandum of understanding from the US and the confirmed significant progress in negotiations. The development has cooled off the global crude oil prices which also supported the rupee. The Brent crude oil prices have declined over 3% to trade near $87 a barrel. On the global front, the Japanese yen has weakened against the U.S. dollar on Friday ahead of Bank of Japan's policy meeting next week.
Finally, the rupee ended at 95.18 (Provisional), strengthened by 67 paise from its previous close of 95.85 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.53 and 94.95 respectively.
