Bond yields trade lower on Tuesday

Bond yields traded lower on Tuesday despite cooling oil prices and easing US-Iran tensions.  

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields climbed on Monday, pushing the 2-year yield to its highest since early last year, as investors looked ahead to key inflation data due to be released Thursday and weighed the latest developments in the U.S.-Iran war negotiations. Furthermore, Oil prices extended losses on Tuesday, as investors weighed the implications of progress in U.S.-Iran peace negotiations and a temporary easing of sanctions on Iranian crude exports. 

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 02 basis points lower at 6.83% from its previous close of 6.85% on Monday.  

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 01 basis point lower at 6.49% from its previous close of 6.50% on Monday.
