Natco Pharma gets nod to raise stake in Adcock Ingram to 49%

Natco Pharma has secured approval to acquire additional shareholding in Adcock Ingram Holdings Proprietary (Adcock Ingram). The Board of Directors of the company at its meeting held on July 08, 2026, has approved the same. This acquisition valued at Rs 1,069 crore at the prevailing exchange rate will take the company’s shareholding in Adcock Ingram from 35.75% to 49%. The acquisition is aimed at expanding geographic footprint in South Africa and the continent of Africa. The investment is expected to be completed before the end of July 2026.  

Founded in 1890 in South Africa, Adcock Ingram is a pharmaceutical company operating across four segments -- Prescription, Consumer, OTC and Hospitals. It has a diverse portfolio of products ranging from generic and branded formulations to critical-care hospital products as well as consumer & home-care products.

Natco Pharma is a vertically integrated and R&D focused pharmaceutical company engaged in developing, manufacturing and marketing of Finished Dosage Formulations (FDF) and Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs).
