Bond yields trade lower on Friday

Bond yields traded lower on Friday as traders stayed cautious ahead of a large debt sale later in the day. 

In the global market, U.S. Treasury yields fell on Thursday as traders weighed new economic data and sought to look beyond the renewed hostilities in the Middle East. Furthermore, Oil prices edged higher on Friday as traders balanced renewed U.S.-Iran hostilities against expectations the conflict will remain contained and avoid a major disruption to crude supplies from the Persian Gulf. 

Back home, the yields on new 10 year Government Stock were trading 03 basis points lower at 6.72% from its previous close of 6.75% on Thursday.  

The benchmark five-year interest rates were trading 02 basis points lower at 6.41% from its previous close of 6.43% on Thursday.
