Pace Digitek’s subsidiary-- Lineage Power (LPPL) has established the Pace-Lineage Research Center in Pune, a dedicated Research & Development (R&D) Center to strengthen its research, engineering and product development capabilities in advanced battery technologies, including Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC) and energy storage solutions.
Aligned with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India, the Center aims to contribute to the development of indigenous technologies and strengthen domestic capabilities in energy storage. As part of this initiative, Lineage Power has entered into a research collaboration with the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune to undertake research on advanced battery technologies and battery materials.
The research programme at the Pace-Lineage Research Center will focus on Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACC), including Lithium-ion (Li-ion) and Sodium-ion (Na-ion) battery materials to improve battery capacity and cycling stability. The research will include optimization of material coatings, tuning of material microstructure and porosity, design of new electrolytes, detailed material characterization, electrochemical evaluation, and optimization of cell parameters. The Center will also evaluate and validate raw materials from domestic suppliers to support indigenous technology development and strengthen the local supply chain.
