Orient Cement has received approval for acquisition of 9.04% shareholding in the equity shares and cumulative convertible preference shares of Vena Energy KN Wind Power.
The company wishes to offtake the contracted quantity of electricity generated from the project as a captive user under captive consumption framework prescribed under the Electricity Act and the rules thereunder. It is expected that the proposed acquisition will be completed on or before August 31, 2026. Cost of acquisition is Rs 12.34 lakh. The Board of Directors of the company, at its meeting held on July 23, 2026, has, inter alia, considered and approved the same.
