Deccan Gold Mines signs MoU with CSIR-CECRI

Deccan Gold Mines has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CSIR-CECRI), Karaikudi, one of India's foremost scientific institutions in electrochemical science, advanced materials and energy storage technologies. The collaboration marks an important step in Deccan Gold's strategy to build an integrated critical minerals business by combining scientific research, advanced mineral processing and downstream value addition to support India's growing strategic minerals ecosystem.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, Deccan Gold Mines and CSIR-CECRI will jointly undertake research and technology development in areas including nickel extraction from nickel-PGE ores, beneficiation and hydrometallurgical process development, nickel-carbon battery materials, and valueaddition technologies for lithium concentrates from the company's Mozambique operations. The collaboration will also facilitate project-specific research programmes, technology validation and future commercialisation opportunities.

This collaboration reinforces its long-term vision of building an integrated critical minerals platform that extends beyond exploration and mining into technology-led mineral processing, advanced materials and downstream applications. By combining industry expertise with one of India's foremost scientific research institutions, the company aims to contribute meaningfully to the development of resilient domestic supply chains for strategic minerals critical to the nation's energy transition and advanced manufacturing ambitions.
