Indian rupee has shown mild strength against the US dollar on Friday as foreign institutional investors continued to pour capital in Indian markets. The foreign institutional investors were the net buyers of securities worth Rs 3,623.51 crore on Thursday’s session. Further, investors were optimistic after the additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, Darpan Jain has said the India-European Union (EU) Free Trade Agreement (FTA) includes a comprehensive work plan to address concerns surrounding the EU's Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), commonly referred to as the carbon tax. On the global front, the British pound has weakened against the US dollar on Friday amid rising concern over escalating tensions in Middle East.
Finally, the rupee ended at 95.43 (Provisional), strengthened by 7 paise from its previous close of 95.50 on Thursday. The currency touched a high and low of 95.46 and 95.25 respectively.
