Major difference between Congress and opposition: Rahul Gandhi

19 Nov 2013 Evaluate

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi accused the opposition of being 'anti-poor'. Gandhi in an election rally told that there is a major difference between their thinking and that of the opposition. Gandhi said that the opposition thinks that development of roads, rail lines and airports would change the country, while the congress does also want to develop infrastructure but want the poor to be part of the growth.

Rahul Gandhi's reference was to the Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA regime that ruled India from 1998 to 2004. He further added that the congress has implemented the RTI (Right to Information Act) and food security to empower the people. Gandhi alleged that the opposition was not worried about the future and was interested in grabbing power.
