Lords Mark Industries has become the first and only company in India to receive a manufacturing licence for an In Vitro Diagnostic Software (Software as a Medical Device - SaMD) for its Biomescan Analytics Platform. The licence has been granted under the Medical Devices Rules, 2017, marking a significant step in bringing gut microbiome science into mainstream wellness and preventive healthcare.
Biomescan combines whole metagenome sequencing data with a validated bioinformatics pipeline to generate detailed gut microbiome profiles, diversity scores, enterotype classification, functional metabolic assessments, and evidence-based personalized dietary recommendations.
With this, the company plans to establish a nationwide network of Health & Wellness Centres in collaboration with hospitals, doctors, and healthcare institutions to provide personalized microbiome assessments and preventive care strategies.
