Coal India (CIL) and ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AMNS), have executed a Non-Binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for exploring the possibility of utilizing syn-gas produced from a coal gasification facility, proposed to be established by CIL adjacent to/at the AMNS Paradip Pellet Plant coupled with CCUS.
Under this Non-Binding MoU, initially the focus shall be to assess the technical, commercial, and implementation modalities of the project and to facilitate preparation of a Preliminary Feasibility Report (PFR) for evaluating project viability.
Coal India is the world’s largest coal mining company. It also produces non-coking coal and coking coal of various grades for diverse applications.
