Asian markets traded mixed in early deals on Thursday, as investors balanced Nvidia's stronger-than-expected earnings report with lingering global economic concerns. Regional technology shares were broadly lifted by optimism surrounding the ongoing artificial intelligence boom. However, market gains stalled due to persistent US inflation numbers, which heightened investor worries about potential interest rate hikes. Japan’s Nikkei retreated from early gains in the session due to sharp sell-off in major semiconductor-related heavyweights like Advantest.

Nikkei down by 69.16 points or 0.10% to 66,193.00, Straits Times dipped by 40.74 points or 0.71% to 5,680.85, Hang Seng declined by 130.97 points or 0.51% to 25,522.00 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI index narrowed by 6.14 points or 0.35% to 1,742.40.

On the flip side, Taiwan weighted lifted by 200.66 points or 0.44% to 46,033.28, KOSPI Index added by 99.47 points or 1.46% to 6,907.68, Shanghai Composite enlarged by 23.70 points or 0.61% to 3,936.22, and Jakarta Composite rose by 46.38 points or 0.72% to 6,452.07.
