Mahanagar Telephone Nigam has informed that MTNL has received Email/Letter No. Ref.: NSE/LISTSOP/COMB/FINES/0954 dated 25.08.2026 from NSE regarding Non-Compliance with the provisions of Regulation 17(1), 17(2A), 18(1), 19(1)/19(2), 20(2)/(2A) and 21(2) of SEBI (LODR) Regulations, 2015 respectively on 27.08.2026. In this regard NSE has imposed fines on MTNL amounting to Rs. 12,66,140 /- (inclusive of Basic fines amounting to Rs. 10,73,000/- and GST @18% amounting to Rs. 1,93,140/-) respectively. It is to be informed you that MTNL is a Public Sector Undertaking. All appointments including Independent Directors on the Board are made by the Administrative Ministry i.e. Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India. The matter for appointment of Six Independent Directors has already been taken up with the Government of India. The Company is also requesting NSE for waiver of fines.
