Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals on Tuesday, on account of risk aversion followed by renewed military clashes between the US and Iran. Global inflation worries amidst soaring crude oil rates, higher bond yield notes and hawkish Fed interest rate bets, dulled investor sentiments. Hang Seng plunged the most among local indices, pressured by aggressive property sector overhaul, an offshore insurance tax scare and weak Chinese economic data.

Nikkei down by 57.93 points or 0.09% to 66,254.00, Straits Times dipped by 45.42 points or 0.79% to 5,709.94, Hang Seng plunged by 278.99 points or 1.09% to 25,288.00, KOSPI Index curtailed by 11.83 points or 0.17% to 6,808.19, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI index narrowed by 17.83 points or 1.03% to 1,708.05.

On the flip side, Taiwan weighted soared by 730.90 points or 1.58 % to 46,859.37, Shanghai Composite up by 6.88 points or 0.17% to 3,993.18, and Jakarta Composite rose by 39.03 points or 0.60% to 6,564.51.
