NMDC reports 21% rise in iron ore production in August

NMDC has registered a 20.77% rise in its iron ore production to 4.07 million tonnes (MT) in August 2026, compared with 3.37 MT produced in August last year. The company's iron ore sales increased by 5.60% to 3.58 MT in August 2026, from 3.39 MT in the corresponding month of the previous year.

The company's Chhattisgarh mines produced 2.64 MT of iron ore and recorded sales of 2.51 MT in August 2026, while its Karnataka mines produced 1.43 MT of iron ore and registered sales of 1.07 MT during the month.

NMDC is a state-controlled mineral producer of the Government of India. It is fully owned by the Government of India and is under administrative control of the Ministry of Steel.
