Bondada Engineering has incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary -- Bondada Hindupur BESS Project (BHBPL), with the specific objective of developing, owning, operating and maintaining the 225 MW / 450 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project awarded by AP Transco under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model. BHBPL has been established as a dedicated Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to undertake the development and execution of the project, including project financing, procurement, construction, commissioning, ownership, operation and maintenance, as applicable under the project agreements.
The project is designed to provide grid-scale energy storage capacity and associated energy management services, supporting the evolving power requirements of Andhra Pradesh. The BESS infrastructure is expected to play an important role in facilitating renewable energy integration, grid balancing, peak-load management and enhanced power-system flexibility.
The BESS project marks an important step in the company’s expansion into the rapidly growing energy-storage and energy-transition infrastructure segment. With increasing renewable energy penetration, large-scale energy storage is expected to play a critical role in providing grid flexibility, balancing capacity and reliable power management. Through BHBPL, the company aims to leverage its execution capabilities and infrastructure experience to establish a strong presence in utility-scale energy storage, while diversifying its portfolio into high-growth infrastructure opportunities. The project is aligned with the company’s broader strategy of expanding into emerging infrastructure segments and creating additional long-term growth opportunities.
Bondada Engineering is engaged in the business of providing engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services and operations and maintenance (O&M) services to its pan India customers operating in telecom and solar energy industry.
