Markets flip-flop between red-green in late trade

03 Sep 2026 Evaluate

Indian equity markets flip-flopped between red and green in late afternoon session amid selling among IT stocks with Infosys, HCL Technologies, Tech-Mahindra and TCS leading the laggards. Besides, high global crude oil prices continued to weigh on market risk sentiments. The Brent crude oil prices continued to trade above the $95 a barrel mark despite US President Donald Trump’s comments indicating the renewed fighting will not last too long. However, losses remained capped as investors were optimistic about the country’s economic resilience after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India recorded a 'remarkable growth' of 7.8 per cent in the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2026-27 (FY27) despite global disruptions, and against all odds, remains the fastest-growing major economy in the world.

On the global front, Asian equity markets were trading mixed as lower oil prices and bond yields offset a mixed set of earnings results from Broadcom. European equity markets were trading mostly in green as U.S. Treasury yields cooled off, easing concerns of interest rate hike.
