Asian markets traded mostly higher in early deals on Wednesday, as a temporary pause in rising oil prices and surging US Treasury bond yield notes relieved market pressure. Regional investor sentiments also got a boost from stabilizing tech and semiconductor heavyweights. However, overall gains remained capped as traders nervously await the Federal Reserve's upcoming interest rate decision. Japan’s Nikkei advanced as a weaker yen boosted export revenue expectations. Moreover, stronger-than-expected August export data driven by semiconductor demand, and an influx of foreign speculative capital into index futures also fuelled the upward trend. Meanwhile, Malaysian market is closed in observance of the Malaysia Day public holiday.

Nikkei up by 184.90 points or 0.29% to 63,669.00, Straits Times rose by 9.85 points or 0.17% to 5,648.49, Jakarta Composite higher by 22.95 points or 0.36% to 6,484.10, Taiwan weighted added by 327.86 points or 0.72% to 45,839.35, KOSPI Index lifted by 47.97 points or 0.72% to 6,675.23, and Shanghai Composite climbed by 20.24 points or 0.52% to 3,884.52.

On the flip side, Hang Seng curtailed by 6.24 points or 0.03% to 24,661.00.
