Extending its gaining streak for fourth straight session, Indian equity benchmark -- Nifty ended higher on Monday amid potential hopes of ease in geopolitical tensions. After making flat to negative start, Index staged recovery and continued its trades in green territory, supported with cooled crude oil prices after signs of possible diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran. Besides, traders took support as commerce ministry’s data showed India's exports to China, South Africa, Brazil and Russia grew 34% to $19.9 billion in April-August 2026-27, led by a 39% jump in shipments to China, highlighting the growing importance of the BRICS bloc for India's export growth. In second half of the session index extended its gains as India and New Zealand finalised the free trade agreement (FTA) which is set to come into force on October 20. Finally, Nifty ended above 23,400 mark.
Most of the sectorial indices ended in green except Metal, IT and PSU Bank stocks. The top gainers from the F&O segment were Patanjali Foods, Mankind Pharma and Kaynes Technology India. On the other hand, the top losers were Oracle Financial Services Software, UNO Minda and APL Apollo Tubes. In the index option segment, maximum OI continues to be seen in the 23900 - 24100 calls and 22900 - 23100 puts indicating this is the trading range expectation.
