The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved the proposal of the Ministry of Commerce for continuation of the agriculture export promotion plan scheme of the APEDA in the 12th Plan period. The agriculture export promotion scheme of Agricultural and Processed Foods Export Development Authority (APEDA) will be continued during the 12th five year plan (2012-17) with four components.
The four components of APEDA are infrastructure development, transport assistance, market development and quality development. The outlay of the scheme will be Rs 1,100 crore during the 12th Plan period.
The main objective of the APEDA scheme is to enhance the capability of the Indian exporters of agro products and support them in realizing their export potential.
