Steel Authority of India (SAIL) and Bharat Coking Coal (BCCL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the joint development and operation of the Indikatta Ramnagore Coal Block of SAIL and the East of Damagoria (Kalyaneshwari) Coal Block of BCCL in West Bengal. The MoU marks a significant step towards developing domestic sources of coking coal.
SAIL is India’s largest steel producing company. The company is among the five Maharatnas of the country’s Central Public Sector Enterprises. The company has five integrated steel plants, three special plants, and one subsidiary in different parts of the country.
