BMW Industries commissions first phase of Greenfield Downstream Steel Complex at Bokaro

BMW Industries has commissioned the first phase of its Greenfield Downstream Steel Complex at Bokaro, Jharkhand, with the Colour Coating line commencing operations. This commissioning plays an important role in the company’s transition into an integrated, value-added downstream steel player. 

The Greenfield Downstream Steel Complex at Bokaro, being developed at a total project cost of Rs 803 crore, will house Cold Rolled Full Hard (CRFH), GA/GI/ZAM and Colour Coated capacities, positioning the company across the full basket of value-added coated steel products. The subsequent phases will include 550,000 TPA Cold Rolled Full Hard and 540,000 TPA GA/GI/ZAM capacities.

As on June 30, 2026, total capital of Rs 341.6 crore had been deployed towards the project, comprising Rs 139.2 crore of internal accruals and Rs 202.4 crore of debt drawdown. Of this around, Rs 60 crore has been capitalized towards the commissioning of the Colour Coating line, as on October 5, 2026.

BMW Industries is primarily engaged into manufacturing, processing and selling of steel products comprising of engineering and other products and services and activities related to the same.
